OHSCA GARDENING INTEREST GROUP (GIG)

The Gardening Interest Group (GIG) is a network of over 50 OHSCA members who enjoy gardening. We are enthusiasts rather than experts, although there is considerable expertise within the members. Those new to gardening are very welcome. This is an evolving group and to date activities have included visiting each others’ gardens or allotments to learn, share ideas and expertise, celebrate successes and commiserate over the disappointments. We organise an annual Plant Share in late May and a Produce and Plant Share in late summer - open to all OHSCA members. We have also held seed swaps, visited specialist nurseries, a local vineyard and formal garden visits hosted by the head gardeners. Twice a year we run a “Gardeners’ Question Time “ which has been most successful; this also acts as a planning and excellent networking place.

Members communicate via email and there is a GIG Facebook (closed). For further information please contact Alison Culverwell, Sue Hodge or Helly Langley via social@ohsca.org.
